Wood pellet heating systems typically have four components—a burner (located inside a boiler), a pellet storage unit (hopper). A pellet conveyor (vacuum suction or Auger) to transfer the pellets from the hopper to the burner. And a controller that responds to the home’s thermostat and automates the entire system.
Core technology
The core technology resides within the Pellergy Alpha boiler itself. Simple, straightforward controls within the boiler are set to respond to the heating demand of your home. Once the thermostat calls for heat, or there is a demand for domestic hot water, the boiler takes it from there. It will automatically feed pellets into the burner, ignite the pellets and modulate the boiler’s firing rate to match the heat load of the home.
If the boiler needs pellets, the integral vacuum system will pull pellets from your bulk pellet storage bin and refill itself. During and afterburn cycles, the Pellergy Alpha boiler will clean the burn pot and heat exchanger areas and auger ash into a convenient-to-service ash bin. It’s that simple, once every 2-3 Ton of pellets you empty the ash bin, swing open the burner door, and be amazed at how the unit is maintaining itself!
Depending on the size of your budget (and your basement), you can choose a small storage bin that will hold a week’s worth of pellets, or a large bin that will hold enough pellets for a month or longer of effort-free heating. The bulk-storage hopper is completely sealed therefore emits almost no noticeable dust. Storage bins come in a variety of sizes to suit various budget and space limitations.
Whether it’s an upgrade or a brand-new system, each installation is contracted to suit the home—just like an oil-system installation. Wood pellet heating systems are installed by Pellergy trained, certified heating system professionals who have all of the certifications and licenses required by either the state or the local municipality. They are generally heating technicians employed by the local, trusted, reliable fuel company, such as Bourne’s energy that already services your home and understands your heating needs. These installers are required to have a background in hydronic heating systems, boiler repair, and boiler stabilization.
Wood pellet heating systems use proven familiar combustion principles. The fuel is locally sourced, clean-burning, stably priced, and abundant. Furthermore, if you switch to wood pellets for fuel, you’ll cut your fuel bills by up to 50% every year.
Upgrading your oil or gas heating system to wood pellet fuel requires little to no modification to your existing heating system. All system controls and safety features are retained. The Pellergy Alpha boilers are fully self-contained units that can link directly to your existing plumbing and heating system, with or without the existing oil boiler remaining. Pellergy’s boilers are UL Safety tested and independently listed. All Pellergy boilers meet current EPA emissions standards and have undergone real-world testing for years. Pellergy systems are approved by homeowner’s insurance companies, pre-approved by mortgage lenders, and—a real bonus—wood-pellet heating systems qualify for federal (and often state) tax credits and rebates. All of this makes switching to the new, innovative, Earth-friendly wood pellet heating systems amazingly easy.
Pellergy’s Alpha series wood pellet boilers are one of the most advanced, efficient, and low maintenance wood pellet boilers available in the world. Compact in design, integrating a 330 LBS hopper directly into the boiler itself. For manual feed, or a vacuum transfer system for automated bulk feeding the boiler with pellets.
The Alpha series wood pellet boilers are a fully automatic system that incorporates:
- Fully automated burn chamber cleaning and ash removal
- Fully automated heat transfer surface cleaning
- Automated ash removal with an integrated ash collection box to minimize required maintenance
- Firing rate modulation
- Advanced Thermo-control allowing the boiler to fire down to 30% of its rated output eliminating the need for costly buffer tanks.
Pellergy’s Alpha series wood pellet boilers incorporate one of the most advanced ignition systems on the market with a dual ignition element design. Having built in redundancy in the ignition system is unique and ensures the highest level of reliability.
