Bourne’s Energy tackles energy challenges with installation of bulk Wood Pellet Silo in Hyde Park, Vermont.
Morrisville, Vermont, March 13, 2017 – A transition in energy is well underway with the addition of Bourne’s Energy’s new Bulk Wood Pellet silo in Hyde Park, Vermont. Bourne’s recently obtained a grant from The Clean Energy Development Fund of Vermont in the amount of $52,000 to tackle sustainability, environmental and climate issues, support the local economy and create easier northern access to this product.
This is not the first sustainable project Bourne’s and the State of Vermont have worked together on to address energy efficiency, climate changes and carbon footprints. In 2010, Bourne’s received a state grant for $45,000 to build a Biodiesel and Bioheat plant in Morrisville Vermont and the momentum is gaining with the pellet silo. “We want local communities to know the level of commitment both Bourne’s and the State of Vermont have for renewable energy sources and to send a clear message that action and change is necessary,” Says Peter Bourne. “Taking advantage of sustainable energy to reduce carbon footprints wherever and whenever we can will bring us closer towards the changes Vermont desperately needs”.
In full support of sustainable, alternative fuels, Governor Phil Scott, who is looking for solutions with climate challenges, as well as several other influencers will be on hand for a ribbon cutting ceremony taking place on March 13th, 11:00 a.m. – 11:45 p.m. at 115 Mudgett Hill Rd, North Hyde Park. “Many Vermonters struggle to adequately heat their homes, so it’s great to see wood pellets become an affordable option,” said Governor Phil Scott. “My Administration is committed to assisting forward-thinking companies like Bourne’s Energy make additional investments in our clean heating infrastructure, and making this technology accessible to all Vermonters.”
